We’re looking for individuals who show awareness and understanding of the complexities of trauma and respectful parenting. This is not a program for people who are new to respectful parenting and healing themselves.

Ideally, yes but we will also consider candidates who can demonstrate their understanding of trauma and respectful parenting through the application and interview process.

Yes. Degrees are important but they’re not everything. We’re looking for candidates who are passionate about the topic of trauma-informed parenting.

Yes. In the second stage or selection, candidates who are selected will have a group interview with team TPEP. Candidates who are selected after this process might have a short 1:1 interview as well if we feel we need more information from you.

January 10th. If you’re selected, we will reach out to you on or before January 10th and the interview will be scheduled for Sunday, January 13th with three possible time slots ranging between 6-8pmPKT. You will be given a choice for your preferred time slot and we will do our best to accommodate your preference

You will know on January 14th Insha'Allah.

The Parent Empowerment Project (TPEP) is a grassroots organization founded by Maryam Munir in 2018 to spread awareness and education about research and evidence-based parenting practices in the South Asian and Muslim communities. She believed that it's time for our communities to break free of harmful parenting practices that perpetuate trauma cycles of abuse, rage and hurt. Since then she, along with TPEP's team of coaches and volunteers, has taught and transformed hundreds of thousands of parents all over the world through workshops and coaching. 

Coaching certifications do not have a governing body like some other professions. Right now, the coaching industry is an unregulated profession which means you have to use your own good judgment to decide if this certification will serve you. TPEP is the most widely recognized and respected parent education organization for the South Asian and Muslim community in the world. 

As TPEP's popularity has grown around the world, a lot of people have started using our free content or workshop materials to start their parent coaching practices. Whereas, we are thrilled and honored that our work is being used to educate more parents about respectful parenting, we have some concerns about how our materials and Maryam's name is being used. We want to make sure that people who carry forth our name and work have done the necessary work on themselves to be able to carry this torch forward.

At TPEP, we believe that Parent Coaching is sacred work because a parent is coming to us with their deepest wounds and vulnerabilities to break the trauma cycles we are trapped in. If we, the professionals, have not done our own painstaking trauma work then we will likely cause more harm than good, even with the best of intentions.

This certification has a strict criteria for acceptance and Maryam will be ensuring that anyone who is accepted and graduates from this program is ready to take on the monumental task of trauma-informed Parent Coaching.

Being a trauma-informed coach means that we understand how experiences of childhood trauma shape our brain development and behavior patterns. This knowledge and understanding allows us to better understand our clients' behaviors and limitations- enabling us to better help them in the blocks they face as they strive to become respectful parents.

Yes.

Every Month you will spend one of the four sessions doing your assignments so no additional time should be required for the most part. There might be some reading involved that’s 20-30 minutes.

- Understanding trauma and the science of safety

- Creating safety for our clients

- Counseling skills

- Motivational interviewing skills

- Respectful parenting content including working with neurodivergent families

- Teaching an effective workshop content

- Practice with cohort

- Practice with real clients

- Practice with conducting a respectful parenting workshop

 - Key elements of launching your own Parent Coaching business (website, social media etc.)

The founder and owner of TPEP, Maryam Munir will be your main instructor.

Afra Khurram, another TPEP coach and qualified psychotherapist will be assisting.

Other TPEP coaches and professionals will also deliver some specialized content.

1- As a graduate of this TPEP training, you will be added to our directory of professionals. You will attract more clients and enjoy more credibility.

2- You will gain lifetime access to all our social media platforms and will be free to put yourself and your work out there

2- You will make your practice trauma-informed and thus enjoy more success with your clients

1- Once you graduate with all course work completed, you will be added to TPEP's directory of Parent Coaches as a TPEP-certified and approved Parent Coach. From here, future clients will be able to reach out to you. There is no charge for this service. 

2- You will be certified to use and share all of TPEP's materials, including our world renowned 8-week respectful parenting course, Anokhay Parents with its slides, videos and content. TPEP will have no share in any earnings you receive and you will be an independent business owner. 

3- If you want to work with us where we will do all the marketing, setup and support for you; at the end of the program, you will have the option to apply for this opportunity. 

In this case, you will just show up for the live sessions to conduct your workshop and TPEP will share the earnings with you 50-50. We can also help you get 1:1 clients with a 30-70 split (you will keep 70% of the earnings).

Of course, we want to help you establish yourself as a full-time Parent Coach with a reliable income. However, TPEP does not promise guaranteed earnings. We would not encourage anyone to join this certification with a set amount of income in mind. Parent Coaching and coaching in general, is a people-centered profession and anyone who is willing to show up authentically and vulnerably can expect to be very successful in shaa'Allah.   

Of course, you may. In fact, this course will also teach you how to set up your own simple website and social media to get you started on the journey.
